I made this painting after a walk with my husband up the alp behind our village where most of a recent snowfall was melting but evidence of the drifts remained. The snow had been sculpted by the wind and part-melted by the sun to become intriguing shapes. I have included fallen larch needles in the top of the painting and some rocks of local dark grey marble that support yellow lichens.
